MetaMask Snaps: like “mods” for MetaMask

MetaMask Snaps is a new platform for developers. Your Snap is an application that runs inside of MetaMask, enabling new features and use cases.

Snaps get their capabilities from a permissions system. Each snap has zero permissions by default. Permissions can be requested at installation for things like:

• Network access
• Disk access
• Deriving keys
• Scheduling periodic actions
• … and so on

A Snap can have its own API, can use many of the methods in MetaMask, and can even use Snap-exclusive methods
